A CCTT DEDICATED TO SOLVING SOCIAL INEQUALITIES IN EDUCATION AND HEALTH THROUGH APPLIED AND PARTNERSHIP RESEARCH
UNDERSTAND, COLLABORATE, ACT
At Centre d’Étude sur les COnditions de vie et BESoins de la population (ECOBES), we have established ourselves as a leader in socio-organizational innovation in education and health n the Quebec college network. Whether it be about promoting healthy eating habits and a physically active lifestyle or raising awareness of the importance of positive mental health, a healthy body image or good sleep hygiene, we have the expertise and experience to help organizations generate the knowledge they need to meet their objectives. As increasing number of students with special needs, Indigenous students, and international students or students with an immigrant background are taking up post-secondary studies, ECOBES contributes to enhancing student support by providing relevant and complementary research data that both help to better understand the needs of these young people and to evaluate the approaches developed by Quebec colleges.
In the field of social sciences and humanities research, very few research facilities are so conducive to social innovation. From beginning to end, our staff take care to develop a shared vision with client organizations throughout their projects. With our collaborative research model involving partners and users in all stages of the project, we carry out applied research that contributes to training and better equipping our partners to fine-tune their actions. In addition, our CCTT has developed leading-edge expertise in quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research as well as in evaluative research. With our team of highly skilled experts, we can provide scientific and technical support to various organizations. Training and knowledge dissemination are also key elements of our mission. While we know every transfer process is unique, we firmly believe that the successful implementation of an innovation lies in the strong network of players behind it.
