Diotech OÜ is an Estonian energy-technology company operating as a system integrator in the fields of energy storage, solar power, electrical infrastructure, lighting, and EV charging solutions. According to its website, the company’s mission is to accelerate society’s shift to carbon-neutral electricity production and consumption.

Over recent years, Diotech Group has secured a prominent presence in both domestic and regional clean energy markets. It holds multiple business units and sub-brands, including Diotech Electric, Diotech Nord, and Solar Wheel (Sunecor), and has expanded its reach into Poland, Latvia and Lithuania.

Strategic Projects Anchor Credibility

In early 2025, Eesti Energia commissioned Estonia’s largest battery storage facility at the Auvere industrial complex. The project was delivered by Diotech Group, which won Eesti Energia AS’s international tender to supply, install, and integrate a 26.5 MW / 53.1 MWh energy storage system based on LG Energy Solution and Power Electronics technology.

This large-scale storage is intended to stabilize electricity prices amid growing variable renewable generation, support grid stability, and participate in energy markets.

Mart Moora, member of Diotech’s management board, remarked: “Our mission is to accelerate society’s transition to carbon-neutral electricity production and consumption. We have deliberately over several years developed the capability to design and build battery technologies, as they are key in making renewable energy controllable.”

In July 2025, Diotech furthered its scope by joining a consortium to build a 56MWh battery park in Poland in collaboration with Energix Polska, supplying system integration, control logic, and technical coordination. The project uses battery systems from LG Energy Solution and SMA AG.

Diotech framed the move as a logical step in its regional expansion: establishing a presence in Poland’s energy market could unlock further opportunities.

In August 2025, Diotech delivered a 1 MW / 2 MWh battery storage system at Ülemiste City, Estonia’s leading smart business campus. The project improves energy security, supports market participation, and highlights Ülemiste City’s role as a frontrunner in sustainable innovation.

Diversified Service Portfolio

While energy storage projects generate attention, Diotech’s service offerings span multiple clean energy segments:

  • Solar power systems: development, installation, and integration of photovoltaic installations.
  • Battery storage systems (BESS): development, installation, and system integration services including development of middle-ware controller & software solution.
  • Lighting and smart street lighting: including LED upgrades, motion-based control systems, and intelligent lighting management.
  • EV charging infrastructure: deployment of charging stations and associated systems.
  • Electrical construction & design: providing infrastructure and engineering support for power systems, both in new builds and retrofits.
  • Operation & maintenance services: long-term system upkeep, monitoring, and performance optimization.

By the end of 2025, over 100 battery units (20+ MWh) will be deployed in the Commercial & Industrial segment across Estonia and neighboring countries, operated through the Diotech FLEX controller for efficient monitoring and frequency market participation.

Recognition and Local Standing

In 2025, Diotech OÜ has been named Small Business of the Year. The consolidated turnover of the group’s companies grew from €11.5 million in 2023 to €25.1 million in 2024, with a net profit of €1.65 million. In addition, the provider of novel energy services was awarded the title of Company of the Year by Tartu Science Park.

In the public sphere, Diotech has publicly stressed the central role of battery storage in ensuring national energy security and stabilizing power systems. Its CEO, Raivo Videvik, told a business news outlet that storage is “central” to energy resilience.

Challenges & Outlook

Diotech operates at the intersection of evolving policy, energy markets, and technological innovation. The company’s success depends in part on expanding into new markets, navigating procurement processes, and securing project financing.

Its entry into the Polish market demonstrates an ambition for cross-border growth. The company’s experience with large-scale storage projects, combined with a diversified service portfolio, positions it to compete on the regional cleantech stage.

Thus, the Diotech narrative is grounded in factual milestones, credible leadership statements, and a consistent strategic trajectory: evolving from a domestic system integrator into a regional clean energy player, with battery storage as its core differentiator.

In addition to its Utility and C&I business verticals, what sets Diotech apart is its ability to deliver end-to-end solutions—from design and construction to operation and maintenance—integrated with digital management and innovative business models. The company’s strength lies in its combined competence in both technical and commercial solutions, creating measurable value for clients while supporting the transition to a carbon-neutral energy economy.
