Mandated by the government and supported by the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy and the Ministry of Health and Social Services, CATALIS is a seedbed of innovation in clinical research. Created in 2017, the NPO is carrying out a bold mandate to optimize Quebec’s clinical research environment and promote the province’s expertise and excellence in this industry, all while keeping patients’ well-being at the heart of its mission.
As a neutral, unifying entity, CATALIS mobilizes and coordinates an extensive network of partners (the CATALIS Network) made up of health institutions, industry members, and patient associations working together to identify clinical research issues and develop innovative solutions that will help improve patient care.
One of the CATALIS Network’s major achievements is the FAST TRACK Evaluation Service, which has been revolutionizing the clinical research environment. The FAST TRACK Evaluation Service, which aims to authorize industry-financed clinical trials in ≈8 weeks, makes it possible for Quebec health facilities to position themselves among the world’s first activated public sites; it also allows companies to accelerate their patient recruitment and, ultimately, the commercialization of their innovations.
The Personalized Clinical Trial Support Service, another flagship service developed by CATALIS, is intended for those patients seeking to participate in clinical trials and the treatment teams supporting them. This personalized, bilingual resource is free of charge; it is designed to help patients who are searching for a clinical trial that targets their medical condition.
As part of its mission to foster engagement, the CATALIS Network has also created a public information hub that provides relevant information about clinical research in Quebec. You can visit this site at www.clinicaltrialsquebec.com
