Born and raised in Union City, New Jersey, Raven Josiah has always been driven by his inquisitive nature. This was evident by his love for travel and capturing the stories of exceptional individuals around the world. Being well-traveled at a young age it was easy for him to choose Kansas City as the location to pursue his university studies.

Fueling his curiosity in understanding why people do what they do he obtained a psychology degree with a concentration in research and data analytics. It was during his graduate studies where he narrowed his focus to innovation. Specifically, his master’s thesis delved into Diffusion of Innovation literature and highlighted what factors influenced the rate of adoption for innovative solutions.

Understanding the social factors that are key for innovation paired with the teaching from The Medici Effect, Raven Josiah co-leads WAYWO (stands for What Are You Working On?), a Kansas City based company, labeled as a peer advisory group, whose mission is to tear down the silos amongst entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and innovative companies to instill Kansas City as a city of collaboration and connectivity.
